FEBS was pleased to once again advocate for responsible pet ownership during the June 4, 2025, “We Live Here” segment on FOX 13 Tampa Bay. (The video was a re-broadcast of the segment that initially aired Aug. 14, 2024.) You can view the entire video here.

Educating the public on responsible ownership of parrots and other pets is an important part of FEBS overall mission. That message came through loud and clear as captured by FOX 13 photojournalist Barry Wong, who produced today’s video. With clearly evident professionalism and skill, Barry also gave voice to our passion for caring for the many exotic birds that have a lifelong home with us – we deeply appreciate the opportunity to share our story with bird and animal lovers everywhere!
Mr. Wong spent nearly two hours with us June 18, 2024, touring, taping, and interviewing. He and our staff had fun interacting, and Barry had the chance to meet several of our feathered residents “up close and personal”. The video demonstrates Barry is a “quick study”: He obviously learned a great deal about parrots and their needs during his relatively short visit.

Looking for a unique way to entertain family and friends this summer? Or maybe you and your “special someone” simply want to spend some quality time outdoors on a weekday? Here’s a great idea: Book a tour of Florida Exotic Bird Sanctuary on our website (www.flabirdsanctuary.org)! We even have a shady picnic area for guest use before or after a tour.
FEBS relies solely on the generosity of families, businesses and foundations for funding. It costs nearly $1,500 each and every day to provide shelter, food, medical care, safety and love to the 850+ birds that call FEBS their forever home. Please donate today and share the story of our sanctuary and its mission with your friends and family members.
